The Rev. Jeanne Kaliszewski
Rector
Jeanne loves Jesus, the Gospel of Luke, and the Book of Jonah. She has been a priest since 2019 and active in the Episcopal Church in Oregon for the past 10. She graduated with an MDiv fro the Church Divinity School in the Pacific in 2019, an achievement only possible because of the love and support of her husband, their 3 kids, and 2 dogs. She has a BA in history from Rice University and a MA in Japanese studies from the University of Washington, and worked in Japan after college. Prior to becoming a priest she worked in local government, in the local sportswear industry, and was a full-time stay-at-home parent. She once encountered God when lost in a snowstorm on the grounds of a monastery. She is deeply grateful to God and the people of St. John the Evangelist that she was called to be their rector.

The Rev. Greg Rainey
Deacon
Deacon Greg bridges church and community through his ministry, advocating for neighbors in need while supporting fellow congregants in their spiritual growth. He assists in worship planning and leadership, occasionally preaches, and brings his passion for singing to worship services.
Greg's ministry focuses on social justice and human dignity, particularly around race, gender, and LGBTQI equity. As both a Coast Guard retiree and former Marine, he has a special connection with Veterans and their families, and helps with fellowship activities to support this community.
Alongside his church duties, Greg maintains a private counseling practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, building on years of hospital-based experience supporting cancer patients and their families. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Social Work degree, and serving in various roles across the Episcopal Church in Western Oregon.
Greg holds an MSW and Graduate Certificate in Gerontology from Portland State University, as well as an MS in Strategic Intelligence from the National Intelligence University. During his free time, Greg enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and exploring the great outdoors.
Emily Guimaraes
Seminarian
Emily (she/her) has been a parishioner at Ascension Episcopal Parish in Portland Heights since 2014. She has been an Episcopalian since her college years and has been in parishes in Texas, North Carolina and Massachusetts, serving at various times on the vestry, as lay eucharistic minister, as reader, as youth Sunday School teacher, and in the choir. She was recently admitted to postulancy for the priesthood in our diocese; God willing and the people consenting the earliest date for her ordination would be 2028. In her current professional life she is an anesthesiologist at OHSU; she works part time so that she also has time for her seminary education and her family. She and her husband Alex are parents to 2 teens and caregivers for 2 elders. Her three favorite things (besides church of course) are dogs, books, and baseball.
